Philosophy

Star Kingdom Curriculum

At Star Kingdom, our educational approach is driven by early learning theories, carefully crafted to shape your child’s future. We’re committed to nurturing the unique potential of our neighbourhood’s next generation. Our curriculum is a catalyst for holistic growth within a warm, safe, inviting, and captivating setting. Embracing the principles of EYLF, we have developed educational programs to enhance children's learning and growth in their early years. We believe that as children grow and engage with the world, they not only cultivate their interests but also construct their own identity, expressing their personality and individuality. This philosophy resonates throughout our environment, where our primary focus is on providing a supportive and interactive space for your little one, grounded in the principles of belonging, being, and becoming.

A curriculum based on:

Our extensive curriculum covers each area of early development, providing your child with the opportunity to grow and explore their strengths in a nurturing environment.

Experiential Learning

We believe in the unparalleled power of experiences. Experiences are what transform our little ones into confident individuals who embrace their identity and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Unlike conventional teaching methods, we embrace experiential learning to captivate the senses and spark curiosity in the young generation. Aligned with this philosophy, our educational programs offer various interactive activities such as science experiments, dramatic play, language, literacy and numeracy exercises, cooking, construction, and creative art.

Collaborative Learning

At Star Kingdom, collaboration is the cornerstone of our philosophy. This collaborative spirit is woven into our curriculum, daily activities, and interactions. We encourage our little ones to connect, communicate, and collaborate with each other in group settings and group plays. With these interactions, children feel confident in sharing their opinions and this nurtures their sense of identity and well-being. By actively engaging in collaborative experiences, our young learners not only develop social skills but also cultivate a strong foundation for individual growth.

At the heart of ELWise's vision is the commitment to building lasting and meaningful connections with the families associated with its centres. Under the new ownership, we recognise the value of relationships built over the years and aim to give back to the community by providing the best possible care to our neighbourhood’s children. By cherishing existing connections, we lay the foundation for the success of future generations, fostering a sense of belonging and shared growth within our community.

Play-Based Learning

At Star Kingdom, play-based learning is the key approach to early development. We believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged in hands-on, playful experiences. Our play-based curriculum is designed to stimulate creativity, critical thinking, and social skills. Through activities such as Munch & Move, Music & Movement, and Nature & Environmental exploration, children not only acquire knowledge but also develop a love for learning. Play serves as the pathway for them to explore, discover, and comprehend the world that surrounds them.

Star Kingdom Rooms

We have allocated three rooms for children based on their age group. Our centre also has family grouping sessions, notably during early mornings and late evenings.

Twinkle Stars

Twinkle Stars is the cosy haven for little ones aged 0-2! In this space, we continue to partner closely with families to honour and adapt to your child’s evolving routines. Through open communication, we create a secure environment, ensuring our little star feels safe and cherished as they explore and grow.

Shining Stars

Shining Stars is the vibrant space designed for our 2-3 year-olds! In this room, our toddler program focuses on fostering self-help, social skills, physical development, and language skills. With a nurturing touch, we provide daily opportunities for your little ones to explore both indoor and outdoor learning spaces, encouraging curiosity and discovery.

Kindi Stars

Kindi Stars is our room for 4-5 year-olds! In this nurturing space, our preschool program is thoughtfully tailored for two groups: the 3-4 program and the school readiness program for 4-5 year-olds. Here our dedicated educators prepare your children for formal schooling, focusing on early literacy and numeracy, along with exciting play-based inquiry projects. We continue to provide personalised support to each child, fostering the development of capable and lifelong learners.

Message from Heidi, Our Centre Manager

Our Centre Manager, Heidi Hillyer has been with Star Kingdom for almost 13 years. She began working casually in the industry 17 years ago and truly found her passion. In 2011 she left her previous job accepting a traineeship to complete her Certificate lll and then went on to achieve her Diploma in Children’s Services. “I love what I do and I firmly believe that the children teach us just as much as we teach them. I am truly grateful for the opportunity I have every day to be a small part in their early education, supporting and nurturing them to be the capable learners they are.”
